Thoughts and insights

Clarity. Certainty. Connection.
I once again had the opportunity to be the demonstration client for Penny and James. This time, I was the “finale” for our modelling class. I got out of that session those 3 Cs for a particular context that I’ve been mulling over.
It’s delicious!
Sad to part ways with my classmates and facilitators. Only a few of us will stay on to complete the rest of the NLP Grad Cert Part 2.
Throughout these past 5 days, Penny and James were under strict instructions from Jules and Chris Collingwood (facilitators of the whole Graduate Certificate) not to reveal the actual patterns nor entertain questions to reveal their approach until today. The idea is that we learn from modelling them, and not from receiving explicit instructions. All of have been able to model what they were doing through the demonstration, and actually got to facilitate others ourselves.
Today, we found out more about Clean Language, the approach that they’ve modelled for us. It is about Symbolic Modelling. As human beings, we’ve done that naturally. Throughout civilizations, we represent our world with metaphors: gods, legends, stories, fables, etc.
It is almost magical to be able to create change for someone through the use of very simple questions that elicit this beautiful world of metaphors. Even more wonderful, as a client, you feel that you own the process. By exploring your inner world as you represent the outer world, you find new resources inside to have more choices in how you live the world outside. You then step out into it to be as effective an individual as you choose to be.
Then you may start noticing the world shifting in a way that fits for you.
